DIY Laundry Soap

I have been wanting to make my own laundry soap but was hesitant about doing so. My family has extremely sensitive skin and honestly I didn’t know where to start. I have never made any household cleaner myself with the exception of floor cleaner so I headed to the place where I knew that I would fine a reliable laundry soap recipe….Pinterest!

After searching several ‘pins’ I decided to give one a whirl. Here’s what I used:

1 box of baking Soda (2 lbs)
1 box Super Washing Soda (3 lbs)
1 box Borax (4 lbs)
1 tub Oxi-Clean
3 bars of Jergens unscented bar soap
2 gallon jar
1 grater with large holes

I did this in three steps.
1) Grate one bar of soap into jar. Then put 1/3 of each ingredient into jar also. Mix well to combine.
2) Grate second bar of soap into jar. Put 1/2 of each remaining ingredient into jar then mix well to combine.
3) Grate last bar of soap into jar. Place remaining ingredients into jar and mix well.

Place a one tablespoon into mixture for use. Each load of laundry will only need one tablespoon of soap. For extra dirty clothes you can add a half tablespoon more.

If you have a homemade cleaning product that you absolutely love, please share it in the comments!
